Keynote 1: NeuroConversant Leadership - How to Talk to Anyone

Most of us have been talking since we were two, so communicating as adults should be easy…shouldn’t it?

Have you ever understood the words someone is saying, but have no idea what they meant?  Or tried to explain something ‘simple’ and received blank stares in return?

Communication between similar people is relatively easy. But what happens when an introverted scientist and a gregarious sales person need to work on an important project together?

Relating to people who think and communicate differently than we do is a challenge, but it can be done!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the root causes of miscommunication

  2. Learn four dimensions of people's communication styles

  3. Identify three ways to relate with a diverse range of people

Keynote 2: Leadership Lessons from Left Field

There are so many great books and classes about business and leadership.

However, the best lessons I have learned about business came from unexpected places.

Growing up as the youngest of 10 children, doing improvisational acting and learning to swim in order to do triathlons all have great business and leadership lessons...wrapped up in fun stories!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn what makes stories memorable

  2. Explore how to make stories more relatable

  3. Discover how incongruity in a story can make it come to life

Keynote 3: Can Your Weaknesses Become Your Strengths

How did David defeat Goliath? Did he overcome his weaknesses….or was he able to turn what everyone believed as a disadvantage, into an advantage?

Everyone has, what we perceive, to be strengths and weaknesses.

Sometimes we work on improving those ‘weaknesses’. Sometimes we hand those things off to people who have it a perceived strength in that area.

What if we were able to change our perspective and realize that often what we thought of as a disadvantage can actually be what makes us amazing.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify 3 traits that are often misperceived as weaknesses

  2. Learn how to overcome disadvantages

  3. Recognize when something is actually an advantage, and capitalize on it
