The Neuroscience of Effective Communication
Jeremy Doran is a keynote speaker and workshop leader who helps organizations communicate across the gaps that slow them down — between engineers and executives, technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, and people who simply see the world differently. He speaks to associations, companies, and conferences in manufacturing, public works, engineering, financial services, and HR, and has delivered programs for organizations including Electric Boat, APWA, SHRM, and SAE International.
He was named one of the top 50 leadership speakers for manufacturing in 2026. His work draws on degrees in mechanical engineering and psychology, a decade as a financial advisor, and the neuroscience of how people think, process information, and communicate. He is based in Providence, Rhode Island, and is the host of the NeuroConversant Leadership podcast.
There’s someone at work who frustrates you. Maybe they’re hard to deal with. Maybe they seem incompetent. Worse — maybe they’re clearly competent, and things still go wrong. This session explains why. Using personality science and neuroscience, Jeremy gives your audience a practical framework for understanding how people think, communicate, and make decisions differently — and how to reach the ones who are hardest to reach. The frustrating person doesn’t have to stay frustrating
Format: Keynote (45-60 min) or workshop (half-day)
Best for: Cross-functional teams, engineering and technical organizations, associations, leadership conferences
The leaders who move people aren’t the ones with the best data. They’re the ones with the best stories. The problem is that most professionals were never taught how to tell one – they were taught how to present. This session gives your audience a neuroscience-backed system for building stories that stick use the TIE framework: Teach, Inspire, Engage. The result is communicators who can walk into any room and actually land their message.
Format: Keynote (45-60 min) or workshop (half-day)
Best for: Leadership conferences, sales and marketing teams, technical professionals who need to communicate up
JP Morgan, Microsoft, and SAP don’t run neurodiversity programs because it’s the right thing to do. They do it because it works. This session reframes cognitive diversity as a business strategy, not a compliance initiative and gives leaders practical tools for hiring, engaging and retaining people who think differently. It’s DEI with a dollar sign, because that’s the language that moves organizations.
Format: Keynote (45-60 min) or workshop (half-day)
Best for: HR conferences, leadership teams, manufacturing and engineering organizations
